In these days of information technology words travel quickly and hence it is hardly surprising that many Europeans are well aware that the EU-Commission and you personally are putting pressure upon the European Parliament to concede to your demands regarding the Firearms Directive.
The latter can at first glance only be described as a work of haste since it was presented only a few days after the grusome terrorist acts in Paris. However, people like myself that have been involved in safeguarding law abiding citizens rights regarding firearms for some years are very much aware that the EU-Commission only seized the correct moment in order to implement a political agenda that lacks empirical substance.
You are invited to read our point-by-point reply to this diatribe:
Much of the debate has been overshadowed by intense lobbying from pro-gun groups. They argue that current rules are good enough and that the problem is that some EU states are not applying them.
Pro-gun groups get not paid by the “gun lobby”. They work unsalaried for their own interest.
The choice of words is purposely intended to project us a “sinister and wealthy gun lobby” with the financial power to influence law makers. In realty FIREARMS UNITED and its partners are non-profit making organisations and their administrators are volunteers who contribute their time and energy to campaign for the interests of their members. This process is a vital process in a democracy:
“Lobbying is an integral part of a healthy democracy, closely related to universal values such as freedom of speech and the right to petition of government. It allows for various interest groups to present their views on public decisions that may come to affect them. It also has the potential to enhance the quality of decision-making by providing channels for the input of expertise on increasingly technical issues to legislators and decisionmakers.” (Burson Marsteller, A Guide to Effective Lobbying in Europe: The View of Policymakers, 2013).
Second conference on the impact of the EU Firearms Directive revision – Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana, Malta on Saturday 7th January at 2:00pm
The conference is being organised by AACTS and AMACS in collaboration with FIREARMS UNITED. Speakers from the three organisations, FESAC, FACE and IPSC as well as the Minister for Home Affairs of Malta will report on progress in the fight against the contentious EU Commission proposal that punishes legal firearm owners rather than tackling illicit trafficking of arms. The keynote speaker is the Minister for Home Affairs of Malta, which country will hold the next Presidency of the Council of the EU from January to July 2017.
European Parliament and “aggressive gun lobby” watered down the proposal

A press release of the European Commission announced the end of the trilogue concerning the amendment proposal to the European firearms directive – now infamously known as the “EU Gun Ban”
The final outcome of the dossier will be decided at the European Parliament in February and March
With a press release launched yesterday, December 20th, the European Commission announced the conclusion of the trilogue concerning the amendment proposals to the European firearms directive – a dossier now infamously known, and aptly so, as the EU Gun Ban.
First introduced by the European Commission in November 2015, after the bloody terror attacks in Paris, the dossier originally included draconian restrictions aimed at law-abiding, legal gun owners, which included a full ban on high capacity fixed or detachable magazines for all firearms, a total ban on private ownership of modern hunting and sporting guns aesthetically and only partially technically patterned after modern military firearms, and many more.
Since 7th June 2016 we recieved more than 100.000 €.
From this total we already paid expenses of 23.487,61 € for travel costs, press releases, advertisments and letters, as well as for paypal fees of 1.616.73 €. The balance of 15.12.2016 was 81.835,13 €,
The “Founding Fathers (and Mother)” decided together with the whole working team to spend during the next three months huge sums for professional help, national conferences, TV, advertisements et all to get our topic and our concerns into the public and to the people in power. We also work on complains and lawsuits in our backrooms.
Those who know advertising’s cost can verify that 80.000 € is not enough for our plans.

We recieved today the information, that Vicky Ford has sent a letter to MEPs. We copied this letter from here and asked our sources for verification. It is confirmed that rapporteur Vicky Ford wrote the letter. She tweeted that she is moving towards an agreement that is close to the Parliament position, which however would move IPSC guns to Cat. A

We are stuck on this text at the European Parliament, which position comes to keep in the hands of civilians dangerous automatic and semi-automatic firearms. We need your help in order to convince your colleagues at the EP [to get them banned].
Pressure by Commission/Council and Updates on Trilogue
On November 24th, the Firearms United network received classified and very reliable intelligence according to which the European Commission would be exerting an unprecedented amount of pressure on the European Parliament to reach an end to the trilogue before the end of the year; and such an agreement would be on the Council’s position.
Given how many of the biggest member States agree on many points – with the governments of Germany, France and Italy being among the main sponsors of what is now in-famously known as the “EU gun ban” – the European Parliament may indeed be forced to capitulate.
PLEASE SHARE AND ACT: EU COMMISSION WILL ENABLE ORIGINAL EUGUNBAN PROPOSAL
Perhaps it is due to our facts which we presented last Wednesday in Brussels and which were not spread by media at all – even when we made a paid press release. It seems no journalist or online magazin forwarded this information, even when it got 1 million views.
We came to know that Commission and the Ministries of the Interior of FR, DE and IT are pressuring Parliament to accept their ban proposal by the end of this year.
They want to ban magazines and semi-automatic rifles: Read more
Please support your MEPs that they do not give in to this pressure.
Firearms United president Tomasz W. Stępień had the honor to deliver the final remarks of the conference, and did so with a vengeance. His remarks were probably the most intense and vibrant speech of the day.
While political correctness allows gun owners to be the only part of society that can legitimately be victimized by deliberate attacks, anti-gun political leaders live in their ivory towers surrounded by armed bodyguards and plot the disarmament of their citizens.
