Malta Firearms Conference – Sending the Message!

The Conference organized by FESAC, AACTS, AMACS and Firearms United in Malta has attracted media attention – in addition to hall full of firearms enthusiasts and foreign guests from many organizations in Europe!

Nothing in the directive is yet settled, and even the trilogue is still formally ongoing before the parliament approves the current “compromise”. Malta is in key position, because they are taking over EU presidency for the next six months and one of the more challenging areas is the new firearms directive proposal, so the conference was an excellent event, where the message from the shooters was sent to the authorities – loud and clear.

The Maltese organizations spared no effort or expense setting up the conference on saturday, and as you can see from the pictures, they had even organized an exhibit where they showed priceless historical artifacts that were originally sentenced to be destroyed by the commission.

Stephen Petroni: The Collectors’ Perspective on the Firearms Directive

The European Commission’s EU Gun Ban plans also target collectors, and quite heavily so: they would be forced to permanently alter, deactivate, or even turn in for destruction many firearms of great economic, historic and cultural value because the European Commission considers them “too dangerous” to be left in the hands of average citizens.

FESAC chairman Stephen A. Petroni once again denounced how the European Commission willfully and maliciously compares legitimate gun collectors with illegal hoarders and identifies them as “possible sources of firearms” for the black market in order to justify restrictions against them.

Thougt Leader Opinion on Firearms Directive

When we had been asked to “buy” a printed opinion by the Parliament Magazine we first thought this could be wasted money. But when we heard that Vicky Ford will write an article, too – we agreed to spend money from our Fighting Fund for this advertising. And we choose Stephen to speak for us. Stephen is chairman of FESAC, the European umbrella of 300.000 authorised collectors. We are very pleased that PM placed us directly to Vicky’s article.

EU gun ban: we’re still in danger

News come from Brussels, and they aren’t that good at all: it’s time to mobilize again!

The week didn’t start with good news regarding our stuggle against the planned EU’s totalitarian gun ban.

The draft report from IMCO President, MEP Vicky Ford, is rumored to be on the edge of being shot down for being “too much pro-gun”.
